Ever since the old days of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, even leading up to the days of Mr. Monk and the Secret Santa, we have had Christmas-themed movies and TV episodes for a long time. These provide a full Christmas atmosphere…inside your TV! I love Christmas, and Christmas-themed movies and TV episodes make it even better!

#10 Best Thing About Christmas-Department Store Santas

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 11:02 am by earl

We have cracked the top ten, and the list keeps getting better and better! Department store Santas can be a blessing or a curse. The man whose lap you’re sitting on can be a horrible person who hates his job, or can be a jolly man who loves being Santa. I actually know a guy who has a job doing just this. It’s hillarious, kids will point and yell “Santa Claus”! From Monk to the classic Santa in A Christmas Story, Department Store Santas earn their spot at #10.

400th Post

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 5:00 pm by earl

Yes, this is my 400th post, and I am celebrating with a new site! Following in the steps of DragonMaster, I am making a new site dedicated to the wide world of Heroes. maybe some day I will be on the post show, arguing with other Heroes fans. If any object, you can say I, but I won’t hear you, so you can comment on the new site and talk there about it. The new site will cover my episode summaries, all of the new news on Heroes, the latest theories, and more! Have no fear, for I will still be running this site.

Anyway, back to the celebration of my 400th post, I would like to thank all of those who helped with this site, Nolanator, James, DragonMaster, Link, Colt, and sometimes Scott for commenting and arguing with me. I would like to thank TIm Kring for making the masterpiece that is Heroes, the Mythbusters for sparking several arguments on this site, and so many more people and things. I love this site, and have been running it for nearly 10 months. Thanks to everybody, and I hope I make it to 500!

#11 Best Thing About Christmas-Christmas Parades/Decorations Around Town

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 1:58 pm by earl

At my town’s most recent parade, I probably took about 30 pictures. I just love the different floats and the Christmas spirit that emerges from people when they see the parade. I also love the decorations around cities, including special lights on the light poles, or just a Christmas tree in someone’s yard. It makes all the difference seeing everyone is in the Christmas spirit.

#12 Best Thing About Christmas-Times at the Fireplace

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 1:56 pm by earl

Whether you’re sharing how your day went or watching Deal or No Deal with the family, no household should be without the fireplace. With the combination of this and hot cocoa, it makes for a near-perfect night, especially around Christmas time.

Elf Yourself

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 10:20 am by earl

This is one of the best websites that I found with help from Dragon Master where you can upload pictures and use the faces to put on elves and make them dance. It is incredibly easy to use, and I highly recommend it.

#13 Best Thing About Christmas-UnWrapping Gifts

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 9:53 am by earl

Another classic tradition, unwrapping gifts is a necessary part of Christmas after wrapping them. Even if they are your own. There is a classic technique to opening gifts. You can either just go in and spare the paper no mercy, or meticulously not tear any piece and carefully open it. Either way, you still have to show that you love your present, and showcase the classic “Oh, I love it!” look on you face. Not that I ever have friends and family reading this, I have loved every gift I have ever been given.

Heroes Sason 1 Mohinder Voiceovers: Episodes 1-5

Posted in The Tube, Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 5:57 pm by earl

Another one of my favorite parts of Heroes are the excellent voiceovers provided by Mohinder at the beginning and end of some episodes. Thanks to HeroesWiki, here are a few. Above are also some of the cool placements of the titles in some episodes.

Genesis-Where does it come from—this quest, this need to solve life’s mysteries when the simplest of questions can never be answered? Why are we here? What is the soul? Why do we dream? Perhaps we’d be better off not looking at all. Not delving, not yearning. But that’s not human nature. Not the human heart. That is not why we are here.
This quest, this need to solve life’s mysteries—in the end, what does it matter when the human heart can only find meaning in the smallest of moments? They’re here—among us. In the shadows, in the light, everywhere. Do they even know yet?

Don’t Look Back-We all imagine ourselves the agents of our destiny, capable of determining our own fate. But have we truly any choice in when we rise or when we fall? Or does a force larger than ourselves bid us our direction? Is it evolution that takes us by the hand? Does science point our way? Or is it God who intervenes, keeping us safe?
For all his bluster, it is the sad province of man that he cannot choose his triumph. He can only choose how he will stand when the call of destiny comes, hoping that he will have the courage to answer.

One Giant Leap-When evolution selects its agents, it does so at a cost. It makes demands in exchange for singularity, and you may be asked to do something against your very nature. Suddenly, the change in your life that should have been wonderful comes as a betrayal. It may seem cruel, but the goal is nothing short of self-preservation, survival.
This force, evolution, is not sentimental. Like the earth itself, it knows only the hard facts of life’s struggle with death. All you can do is hope and trust that when you’ve served its needs faithfully, there may still remain some glimmer of the life you once knew.

Collision-Sometimes questions are more powerful than answers. How is this happening? What are they? Why them and not others? Why now? What does it all mean?

Hiros-When a change comes, some species feel the urge to migrate. They call it zugunruhe, a pull of the soul to a far off place. Following a scent in the wind, a star in the sky. The ancient message comes calling the kindred to take flight and gather together. Only then can they hope to survive the cruel season to come.

#14 Best Thing About Christmas-Christmas Stories

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 10:00 am by earl

Christmas stories, however not used as much nowadays as they were years ago, are still great parts of Christmas. Including the classic Night Before Christmas and many more, Christmas stories are definitely things to have in your family’s tradition of Christmas.

#15 Best Thing About Christmas-Santa Hats

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 10:30 am by earl

A classic hat and a great part of Christmas, Santa Hats are great hats for Christmas. I make sure I wear one when wrapping presents or doing anything Christmas-related. I personally have the perfect Santa hat, which I’ve had for about 2 years. It has just the right amount of fluff.

#17 Best Thing About Christmas-Christmas Movie Marathons/#16-Christmas Sweaters

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 2:03 pm by earl

One of the best things about Christmas are the movies, and it pleases me every year to see Christmas-themed marathons showing such classics as Frosty the Snowman, Happy Gilmore, and more. It really shows that TV networks are as cheery as can be. So grab a cup of hot chocolate, cozy up by the fire, and watch Happy Gilmore over and over again. Tap-tap-tapiroo!

Another great thing about Christmas are the sweaters. Freshly knitted from Grandma or just bought at Wal-mart, these are classics that, although you may be embarrassed to wear, are sure to be found around Christmas time.

#18 Best Thing About Christmas-Wrapping Presents

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 12:39 pm by earl

So far this Holiday season, I have been kicking butt when it comes to wrapping presents. I have wrapped each present under our Christmas tree. There’s just something about cutting the right amount of paper, slapping a bow and tag on there and taping it up that gets me all excited. It fills my heart with joy to see my presents under the tree.

I Am Legend or National Treasure 2?

Posted in Movies, Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 9:26 pm by earl

Usually once every year towards the end of the year, my Grandma takes some of her grandkids to the movies, and we ususally go see whatever. Last year I was old enough to go see a movie by myself, and I saw The Pursuit of Happyness, a movie I had been looking forward to for a while and LOVED. But this end of the year, if we do it again, I will have to make a critical choice: National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets, or I Am Legend. I Am Legend looks plain awesome, and although it would be a risk, and the fact that it is probably scary, it looks worth it. I loved the first National Treasure, and the previews for the new one look just as good. So I want your opinion. What do you think? Should I go with I Am Legend, or National Treasure 2? You help me decide.

#19 Best Part About Christmas-Christmas Music

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 9:50 am by earl

I have my own playlist on WIndows Media Player 11 of Christmas Music, and I like to listen to it while working. From the classics of Bing Crosby to the more modern day stylings of Amy Grant, Christmas music will forever be remembered by me as a classic part and one of the best parts of Christmas.
