Didn’t Think I Do Did Ya?

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 9:25 am by earl

Yes, I just created a new site on wordpress.com called Earl’s Blog: Part 3. It is the new ad-free home of my site. And unless this place gets rid of the ads, it will be my new home. Thanks for the memories iblog365, and I encourage Colt, James, Dragon Master, Nolanator, and the rest to join me. My new site is earlsblog.wordpress.com, trust me, this site is huge, because earl.wordpress.com was already taken.

So Long Ad-Farm!

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 1:20 pm by earl

I would just like to let everyone know I will be creating a new site soon if iblog365.com does not stop connecting the words in my posts to links. I will not have it. I deserve a site that’s not littered with random links. James, if you know a how you contacted iblog365.com and recommended the icons, please let me know. If they do not fix this problem, they will lose one of their best blogs.

Merry Christmas Guys

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 5:06 pm by earl

Hey guys, I wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas. I hope you guys are safe in any of your travels, and that you don’t drink too much fruit punch. My relatives will never get over my “More than a Feeling” interpretation. Anyway, I hope you are all safe, have a Merry Christmas, a good break, and that this is a Christmas to Remember. Now that Amy Grant song is stuck in my head. Merry Christmas.

#1 Best Thing About Christmas-Friends and Family

Posted in Quotes, Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 4:59 pm by earl

Sure, it may sound corny, but think about it. Without them, who would you send a Merry Christmas to? Who would help you decorate the tree? Who would be the receiver or giver of your gifts? Friends and Family are truly the best parts of Christmas, and are something we should all treasure. I love my family, and I smewhat like my friends. Just kidding, I appreciate you guys including Dragon master, James, Steven, Nolanator, and all the rest of my friends at school for hearing me ramble on about how Adam could possibly get out of his premature grave, and how Locker Buddies is cool. (I will never give up.) The yawn thing was also pretty cool. Anyway, thank you all for all that you do. I hope you all have an extremely Merry Christmas, safe travels, and a happy new year. I probably won’t be posting again until at earliest December 26th, I’ll be busy playing Kingdom Hearts. HA!!! Here are some of my favorite Christmas quotes:

Michael Scott: “Presents are the best way to show someone how much you care. It is like this tangible thing that you can point to and say ‘Hey man, I love you this many dollars-worth.’
So Phyllis is basically saying ‘Hey Michael, I know you did a lot to help the office this year, but I only care about you a homemade oven mitt’s-worth.’ I gave Ryan an iPod! “

Michael: We are going to sell that tree to charity. Because that’s what Christmas is all about.

Dwight: [bringing in a dead goose] I accidentally ran over it. It’s a Christmas miracle!

Dwight: He was already dead, and we Schrutes use every part of the goose. The meat has a delicious smoky rich flavor. Plus, you can use the molten goose grease and save it in the refrigerator, thus saving you a trip to the store for a can of expensive goose grease.
Jim: Wow. Win-win.
Dwight: Exactly, thank you, Jim.
Phyllis: I like goose. If it’s already dead, is it so crazy if we eat it?
Creed: That’s crazy. It’s crazy.

Michael: I’d like everybody’s attention. Christmas is cancelled.
Stanley: You can’t cancel a holiday.
Michael: Keep it up Stanley and you’ll lose New Year’s.
Stanley: What’s that mean?
Michael: Jim, take New Year’s away from Stanley.

In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it ‘Christmas’ and went to church; the Jews called it ‘Hanukkah’ and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say ‘Merry Christmas!’ or ‘Happy Hanukkah!’ or (to the atheists) ‘Look out for the wall!’
-Dave Barry in “Christmas Shopping: A Survivor’s Guide”

Once again we find ourselves enmeshed in the Holiday Season, that very special time of year when we join with our loved ones in sharing centuries-old traditions such as trying to find a parking space at the mall. We traditionally do this in my family by driving around the parking lot until we see a shopper emerge from the mall, then we follow her, in very much the same spirit as the Three Wise Men, who 2,000 years ago followed a star, week after week, until it led them to a parking space.
-Dave Barry

Let the children have their night of fun and laughter, let the gifts of Father Christmas delight their play. Let us grown-ups share to the full in their unstinted pleasures…. Sir Winston Churchill

Christmas isn’t just a day, it’s a frame of mind.
-Valentine Davies in Miracle on 34th Street

Instead of being a time of unusual behavior, Christmas is perhaps the only time in the year when people can obey their natural impulses and express their true sentiments without feeling self-conscious and, perhaps, foolish. Christmas, in short, is about the only chance a man has to be himself.
-Francis C. Farley

Roses are reddish
Violets are bluish
If it weren’t for Christmas
We’d all be Jewish.
-Benny Hill

The Supreme Court has ruled that they cannot have a nativity scene in Washington, D.C. This wasn’t for any religious reasons. They couldn’t find three wise men and a virgin.
-Jay Leno

There are also several other great quotes including prophecies from the Bible, and several others. Thanks for reading. Merry Christmas.

Am I Really that Southern?

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 5:03 pm by earl

I recently shot a video of myself talking about the last few days of Christmas shopping, and not only was I horrified at my voice, but I realized I sounded really Southern. Not “Let’s go shoot a possum by the railroad tracks with bubba before the poll-lice show up!”, but just more Southern than I hear in my head. Now those of you who listen to me ramble, answer my question, do I sound really Southern, because if I do, I have to withdraw a lot of jokes about SOuthern sounding people.

#2 Best Thing About Christmas-Christmas Parties

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 4:49 pm by earl

I love Christmas Parties. And no, not the ones where I drink too much orange soda and I get on the table and do the robot, Remember this site is rated PG, but the ones where I get with my friends and enjoy eachother’s company, including presents. To date, this Holiday Season I have had 5 or more so far, with about 4 more get-togethers planned. I abosolutely love CHristmas parties, and they’re what make Christmas even more CHristmas-y.

What is #1? Stay tuned tomorrow to find out!

There is No Shadow to This Colossus

Posted in Video Games, Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 10:16 pm by earl

I would like to let James and DM know that I put there gift cards to good use. I pooled them together and purchased Shadow of the Colossus, a PS2 adventure game. And only after reaching, far from beating, the first colossi, I love it. The scale is epic and the colossi leave you gasping, thinking “How do I do this?” The game is great, the graphics are gorgeous, and I look forward to defeating the 16 colossi and reviewing it at a later date. Thanks again guys.

#3 Best Thing About Christmas-The Gift Process

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 9:49 am by earl

I hate to sound so selfish, but hey, it was in your mind too!!! The GIft Process is probably the most recognized part of Christmas. But no, this does not just include getting presents, it can also include giving. There has to be a giver in order for their to be a givee’, right? Presents are the things that go under your Christmas Tree, that you fill the trunk with, and you are so grateful for this time of year. I would just like to use this moment to thank everyone who has ever given me a gift for Christmas. Thank you all so much, and Merry Christmas.

#4 Best Part About Christmas-Christmas Morning

Posted in Videos, Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 9:21 am by earl

The classic serenity that consumes the house. The casual me getting up and examining everything before calmly sitting down and watching Ren and Stimpy until the others get up. My sister running in and telling me to wake up after I surprisingly overslept. How did that happen? All of these are classic elements of Christmas Morning. The best morning of the year where you rush into Mom and Dad’s room, wake them up, and tell them Santa has been there. You tear open your presents, seeing your favored gift. I love Christmas, and Christmas morning is definitely one of the best parts. As an added bonus, I’ve added in a classic Christmas Morning video. Two Words-Nintendo 64.

That’s Not Right!

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 1:41 pm by earl

Recently my Mom and I dropped by Wendy’s, which has exceptional chicken nuggets. They have a deal running through December 31st where if you buy a medium or large combo, you get a code for a free Rhapsody song download. I got two, and I looked forward to singing along with Billy Joel for the rest of the day. However, that is not what happened. I went to Wendys.com, where I entered my e-mail address, 10-digit code, and birthday. They then gave me another code to which I could go to Rhapsody.com and enter. But it wasn’t even that simple. I then had to create an account on Rhapsody, and download the 17 Megabyte software!!! Just to download You’re Only Human!!! That is not right!!!

#5 Best Thing About Christmas-The Christmas Tree

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 1:27 pm by earl

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, how lovely are thy branches, oh Christmas Tree, oh Christmas Tree, I forgot the words to the song. The Christmas Tree is definitely 42%, no 35%, no…….It’s a big part of Christmas. With the putting of the ornaments, trying to stuff all of the presents around the tree, and arguing with others about where certain ornaments should go, the Christmas Tree earns it’s spot at #5.

#7 & #6 Best Things About Christmas-Christmas Shopping & Giving to Others

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 5:04 pm by earl

OK, I bet you’re wondering, Earl, why are you putting two in one day? You haven’t fell behind. Well, I realize that I will most likely not have time to do #1 on Christmas Eve, or the patience, so I put 2 today so I could finish on the 23rd, this Sunday. Thanks.

It seems really appropriate that today’s is Christmas Shopping since today was my family’s last day of Christmas shopping. Anyway, Christmas Shopping can be a fun, organized activity if you do it right, but can also be a pandemonious, crazy time if you wait until the 23rd. I cannot handle pandemonium. I throw up. I enjoy the making of the list, making inventory on presents (It’s my curse), and the process of getting those presents. I love the long lines, the crazy people on Black Friday, and just the general atmosphere. This makes Christmas oh so better.

Another thing that is a huge part of Christmas and what I thing is one of the vital organs of the body of Christmas is giving to others. I mean, we wouldn’t have the gift-giving process without someone giving. It just makes sense. And I don’t want to play out that I’m the next Ghandhi or the most holy one, but I loved giving Christmas presents to those in need for the past two years. It really completes the Christmas equation. I hope every one of you experience the gift of giving.

#8 Best Thing About Christmas-Breakfast at Grandma’s

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 7:47 pm by earl

One if the best parts of Christmas day, if not the best thing, is going to my Grandma’s house for breakfast. My Grandma is an excellent cook, and her breakfasts are no exception. After unwrapping our presents, we go over and enjoy a delicious meal. I love my Grandma, her breakfasts, and Christmas.
