Fifa Soccer 08-Fifa is heading to the Wii! And it looks like the most interesting Soccer game I’ve ever seen. Instead of shooting for super-realistic character models, Fifa 08 will allow users to play as they’re Miis, which means I’ll be able to score that game-winning goal…again. Seriously, I once played Soccer. I tripped a lot of people. I know I’ll be looking forward to this one later this year.

Bioshock-This game has had me glued to the computer and TV for the past two years. (I knew I would find an excuse for it.) I think this game was first introduced back in 2005, and it should finally be coming out for the 360 and PC later this year. You’ll be playing as some guy trying to do something who has to take down these big huge monster creatures, but who cares, you get powerups! Including lightning, fire, and more!
Â

Blacksite:Area 51-Back in 2004/2005, a game called Area 51 came out and it pretty much went under the radar. It wa a good game, it just didn’t get as much publicity as say Halo 3. Now they’re coming out with the sequel, Blacksite:Area 51. You can be sure to have plenty of shooting, diverse weapons, cool-looking aliens, and more when it comes out for the 360, PS3, and PC.

Each of these three games have nothing in common, besides they are all video games. Go figure.
Fantastic Four:Rise of the Silver Surfer
The four are back for their first next-gen adventure, this time with 4 player co-op! This time, of course, they will be fighting the Silver Surfer and Dr. Doom, and of course in the video game fashion they will fight some more baddies to prevent the game from being 2 hours long. From what I read, each character will have solo missions that are tailored to them, along with group puzzles, encouraging you to use their different powers. My guess is that you’ll use The Thing to break stuff, but that’s just me.
Â

Lego Batman
One of my favorite series last genration was the Lego Star Wars series. This had you in control of little Lego versions of every possibly imaginable Star Wars character. Well, soon Traveler’s Tales will be re-opening the Batcave for Lego Batman, a Lego version of the caped crusader. I don’t really know that much about it, but we’ll just have to hope for it sometime in 2008.

Guitar Hero Encore:Rock the 80s!
guitar Hero is coming back for another gig, this time, they’re joining up with Hiro and going back to the 80s. (Okay, they may not be teaming up, but it’s okay to have dreams!) This time they will have a slew of new songs, all from guess what decade? The 80s! This game will have all kinds of rocking songs, along with 3 multiplayer modes-co-op, faceoff (poss. different difficulties), and pro-faceoff. This one’s planned to re-rock the PS2 on July 17, 2007.

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
Yes, Silv and James, it is true, Rayman and his nutty rabbit friends are coming back, this time, from what I’ve read, only for the Wii. This time they will have 60 new minigames, and a stronger emphasis on the simultaneous multiplayer action, in which there have been four playable minigames-baseball, beer, rodeo, and burgers, in which the rabbids are trying to become as humanlike as possible. I honestly cannot wait to try this out (hopefully) at the end of this year.

Big Brain Academy:Wii Degree
The Big Brain series is finally heading towards th Wii. Finally! This latest installment is sure to be pushing the limit of our brains and making us smarter…..with motion sensing! Look for this one this June, but until then we can assume these screenshots mean something smart.
Â

Guitar Hero 3
One of my favorite games of all time is Guitar Hero 2, mainly because of its fun and insane gameplay. This time it’s comin’ back for a third gig on the next-gen consoles. But more importantly, for the Wii. The new controller will be modeled like the Gibson SG, which I think is the one they used in the 360 version of #2. I am really looking forward to this game for the Wii, and I don’t even care if it does use motion sensing, I just wanna rock!

While looking up info on the original Okami on IGN, I discovered a rumor that they were planning on making an Okami game for the Wii. I believe this would be a great idea, mainly because of the Wii’s motion sensing which would work extremely well with the drawing in the Okami gameplay. James, let’s keep our fingers crossed!

These games are so manly, they would make Chuck Norris quiver in fear!
Splinter Cell:Conviction
I haven’t really been a die-hard fan of the Splinter Cell series in the past few years, but I have played Pandora, and Double agent, which is enough for me to e an expert-You sneak around, you kill stuff. This time our good ol’ buddy Sam’s up to find a mole in his organization and of course, protect the ones he loves. Make sure you check this one out sometime this year.
Call of Duty 4
Call of Duty’s back on the next generation consoles, and of course, the PC, this time, fighting war that hasn’t happened…..yet. This one takes place in a more modern setting, leaving behind the carcass of a once-non-used game concept, World War II. This game has been called by Game Informer as “The most intense FPS we’ve ever played!”. Make sure you play this one when it comes out in TBA, whatever that means.
Halo 3
Well, this was another series I hadn’t really jumped into, that is until recently when I got to play it with some friends. (Let’s just say, I dominate with the plasma sword! I know it’s energy sword, but my version’s cooler!) This time Halo’s back with a great new storyline! But who am I kidding, noone plays Halo for the campaign, it’s like playing G.T.A. for the character development, come on, you know you just wanna blow stuff up. This new game will have great new weapons-SPARTAN LASER!!!, and new vehicles, also a new “bubble shield”. It will also include a video feature where you can record your finest moments. This game will be awesome, and I highly look forward to playing it.

The Simpsons
The simpsons are back in this long-awaited sequel for the 360, Wii, PS3, PS2, PSP, and DS to commemorate their 400th episode. This game will have 16 levels, each taking the form of one of the series’ many episodes. The player will take control of two characters, or two players can jump in for split screen. In the game, the family realizes that they are trapped in the video game world, and while they are there, they might as well have superpowers-Bartman, Homerball, etc. And I think this will play uniquely into the gameplay.
Â
Spore
This game wowed us back at E3 in 2006, and we hoped for an earlier release date than 2008. But I think it will be worth it when this Sims-like game hits the market. This game had some great creation gameplay, with details a plenty. You can create your own a creature, then send it out into the world where it can interact with other pokemon, I mean monsters. Look forward to this one when it comes out in early 2008.
Â

CRASH of the Titans
Crash Bandicoot is back in a new adventure. He will be coming out in October hopefully with his new game, “Crash of the Titans” for the 360, Wii, and PS2. This time there is a new system where the player is able to “latch on” to the enemies and use their powers. Overall, this looks like a very interesting game and I look forward to playing this game, especially on the Wii. Spin Attack!

There’s nothing in particular in common with these games…..except they’re all the manliest games out there! These games are for any dude who likes bank heists, football, or evaporation?
Kane and Lynch:Dead Men
Kane and Lynch, two men with extremely distinctive personalities, are on a mission. What’s the mission? I think they’re gonna try to rob a bank. One’s apsychotic maniac, the other has a broken nose. Don’t ya just wanna give em’ a hug!?! Probably the most entertaining element will be the co-op, which will be treated differently due to the unique gameplay.

Madden NFL 2008
Are you ready for some football!?!?! I don’t really have to tell you about this game, you already know what to expect-New teams, new opportunities, more new stuff, and of course, a lame joke about the Titans. So, there we go. You’re welcome.

Dewy’s Adventure
This fun little manly game for the Wii will but you in control of Dewy, a drop of water that you will move around as and have free control of the temperature in order to change his state of form. Crank up the heat, he’ll change into a cloud and float along. Cool things off and he’ll chill into a block of ice. Both will eqqually be used into unique puzzles. Let’s look forward to seeing this one later this year.

These 3 games are the ones I am most likely considering buying. And yes Silverwing, I can preview games that have been out for a while, not only can previews refer to future games, but it can refer to pre-played games.
Warioware:Smooth Moves
I am a devout believer that one of the Wii’s greatest purposes was Warioware. What with the twisting, and the turning, and the glohyneman! This game will have you looking like a fool or you’re money back! It’s especially recommended for multiplayer, because as we all know, looking like a fool with your friends is a lot better than looking like a fool on your own.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
This is my second favorite game series, with (take a wild guess) as my #1. You get to duke it out with your favorite nintendo characters, this time with the newcomers:Solid Snake, Zero Suit Samus, Pit, Metaknight, and Wario. Of course there will also be the returning characters: Mario, Zelda, Samus, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Fox, and probably more. Overall, with new stages, probably new modes, new characters, new items, and more, this will be a must-have title for any Wii owner.

The Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess
Possibly the most awaited launch title of all time, Duke Nukem Forever stole most delayed, Twilight Princess has finally arrived on the Wii, and it has been greeted warmly. You play as Link, trying to eliminate the evil zone called the Twilight Realm or something like that. It got a 10 out of 10 in Game Informer, and it received a 5 out of 5 on X-Play, so this one definitely sounds good.

Once again, nothing in particular in common with these games, I just picked them out of my Game Informer issue because they looked cool.
Warhawk
This extra-shiny game from Sony for the extra-shiny console, the PS3, has been one of the most anticipated games for the Ps3, thanks to it’s great graphics and cool gameplay. But one thing shocked me when reading the headline. It read: “Yep, it’s just multiplayer.” Now, this could be a really “let’s just get to the good part” move, or a “We’re too lazy to come up with a story” move. There looks to be a lot of vehicles, battles, and cool plane-play, and I think of it as an interesting concept, but one thing’s for certain, it will be shiny. Look for it later this year.

LittleBigPlanet
This is probably going to be another cool game from Sony, but it kinda reminds me of the Mii Channel on the Wii. You create your little…..things, (See picture below), and you put them into the Playstation Network, where they can do all kinds of things like change facial expressions, wave, and smack other…..things using the sixasis controller. It looks really pretty, especially for such a cute game. Check it out (hopefully) in early 2008.

Forza Motorsport 2
This dearly-beloved Xbox game is making it’s grand arrival on the 360, and it only took it 2 years to get here! It was loved by Victor Lucas, and annoying to Tommy Tallarico, mainly due to the turning. Yes, that’s right, this is a somewhat-realistic racer. This game is also known for some great cars, and you can expect them to be as shiny as some of the planes in Warhawk. You can check it out May 29th, 2007.

Ratchet and Clank deserve their own Game Preview post, because they’re so awesome, I may add more later, right now I’m too busy playing Ratchet and Clank!
Ratchet and Clank Future:Tools of Destruction
As you probably can figure out from the rest of the posts, I am a huge fan of Ratchet and Clank, and I have nearly played every one of the games. I don’t know whether it’s the great weapons, controls, or storyline/humor that keeps me playing, but I love it! But this next adventure will be taking Ratchet and Clank where they’ve never been before…..to the PS3. From what I’ve read, some fiendish fiend is trying to kill all lombaxes (Ratchet’s species) and it’s up to him and Clank to save the day. I’ve also read that Captain Quark is going to be the only other returning character. I am psyched! Silverwing, you’re going to have to buy it and let me play it! Hey, I’d even buy it for your PS3 just so I could play it!

This week’s game previews doen’t have any thing in common, I just looked these up on my favorite game site, www.gamespot.com. That’s right kids, I, Earl, go to gamespot.com for all my game needs!
Bust-A-Move Bash!
This popular puzzle series is once again busting its way onto a gaming system in order to bring us joy thourh our…..busting joys. I think if you have busting joys, you should see a psychiatrist. This little buddy will probably utilize the Wii controller in some fun way in order for us to have fun satisfying our busting pleasures on April 17th, 2007.

F.E.A.R.
This fun little shooter that has graced the 360 and the PC is finally coming to the PS3. Of course, there will probably be some “WHAT WAS THAT!!!!!” moments, along with the “Heh Heh, it’s in slow-mo.” moments as well. But one things for sure…..Jim will win in the fight against Roy on The Office…..possibly with the help of Dwight.

Lord of the Rings:Shadow of Angmar
Nerds everywhere will be drooling on there keyboards with this new R.P.G. for the P.C., and I’m sure along with it some dwarf jokes only one devoted fanboy will get, swords, and possibly a mixture of the two. I just have one question:”What’s the deal with the dude with the weird helmet?!?!?”

When you think of movie games, you usually tend to think of “bad games”, and in most cases, this is true, however, there are a few exceptions that come along every millenium that could possibly change our views. Here are some of the best bets for the best movie game this year. (Sorry Shrek 3 isn’t here, I couldn’t find any pictures or info, man, I know that one’s going to be great!)
Spiderman 3
The Spiderman movie games have been sort of the alpha dog of movie games in the past couple of years, and this is most likely due to the crucial “fun factor” quality in these games, and this new one looks to be no exception. There will be certain “gang missions” in this new installment, along with a plathera of villains:Scorpion, The Lizard, Sandman, VENOM!, and the New Goblin. The graphics look completely awesome, and I can’t wait to play around in the Venom suit. And by “play around in the Venom suit” I mean run around my neighborhood dressed up in my own version of it!
Â

Pirates of the Carribean III:At World’s End
Unlike the Spiderman Games, the P.O.T.C. games haven’t really met with the same success. (Superheroes are more fun than Pirates, whoda’ thunk?) But maybe, just maybe, this one can break it’s mold and join the ranks up there with Spiderman thanks to its hopefully-unique combat system, the cool old-school versus multiplayer mode inc. Davy Jones, and…..Captain Jack Sparrow!

Transformers
I’ll admit it: I don’t really know that much about the upcoming game…..but that’s the kinda funny part, because this segment is just like Transformers-MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE!!!!! I’m hillarious.
