Is Gaming A Sport?
![]()
Over the past few years, there has been a growing phenomenon about video gaming as a sport. And although I watch these events, I sometimes question, Is gaming a sport? I aim to find out. Throughout the years, networks like Dish and USA have provided coverage on major gaming events like Major Leaque Gaming and the Halo 2 tournament. But yet, there aren’t as many responses as there would be for, say the Superbowl. Why is this? Well for one, really the only people that will watch (and enjoy) Pro Gaming are gamers, and really, gamers would rather play that game then watch others play it. You can’t go out and play a football game with 20 other people that easily, but you can begin a pro gaming round with the flip of a switch. And as far as the question of is gaming a sport goes, it really depends on what you consider a sport.
