Below is a link to a clip to a game that is sure to rock. Yea, this clip is one Gamespot.com, a very cool game site, and it’s where I get a lot of my video game information. I was pretty blown away when I saw this, and although it’s not that long and doesn’t really make that much sense, when you’ve been waiting 6 years for a game to come out, you’d settle with an inch of the box cover. Click here to go to that clip. In the clip, it appears as if MArio and Kirby could be concluding a fight or meeting, and then one of the new characters, Metaknight starts to appear on the horizon. He quickly engulfs the sky in darkness and sends several minions in to fight Kirby and Mario. Peach and Zelda then appear and join Mario and Kirby. That’s it. This could possibly be a cutscene in the single-player, which would be great considering there weren’t any in Melee. Maybe this means single-player will be something long in-depth, and really really cool. Or, it could be the beginning to the opening cutscene that they always show at the beginning of the game showing each character. This makes me 110% more excited for the game. Man, when is December 3rd going to get here! And, these images just make it worse.

This is the Pirates 3 DVD Cover. I personally don’t like all of the blue, it’s too strong. It kinda looks like the old covers from 1974, that is except for the ships at the bottom. I liked the first two covers, but this one just doesn’t feel right. What happened to the posters! What about a collage with Jack and Davy fighting in the middle top, ol’ Sao and part of his crew to the far right, Will and Elizabeth to the far left, Tia Dalma in there somewhere, with Pintel and Ragetti in the mix too, with the ships at the bottom.

Well, August started off pretty well this week with the releases of a few new titles, Sam and Max Season 1 was released, along with Halo’s spiritual predecessor and some regular seen it before Japanese stuff. We got a great puzzle game for the DS, but a previous winner still reigned over this week. Mario Strikers Charged. With great online, characters, and fantastic multiplayer, it’s not only July’s Game of the Month, but August’s first Game of the Week.Â

If you’re big into the world of gaming, you probably heard a month or two ago when a little game called Manhunt 2 got banned with an AO rating because it had intense, gory violence that went over the edge. But, that also got some people rasing the comment, if movies do the same thing, how come games are treated differently? Well, one part is that children play video games. And no, it’s not that people just think that only kids play video games. Any person with a TV that watches any TV channel would eventually draw that conslusion. The reason is that they think only kids play video games, it’s because teenagers and adults aren’t the only one playing video games. It’s one thing to watch somebody get shot, stabbed, or beaten, it’s another to do it in a game. To be controlling that, causing the character YOUR controlling to do that. In a movie you can close your eyes and plug your ears, sometimes in a game, you have to do it and watch as you do it and know you did it. Video Games and movies are two completely different forms of entertainment and should be accounted as so. That’s why we have the MPAA to rate movies and the ESRB to rate games.  Â

Recently I got to sit down and play The Elder Scrolls 4:Oblivion on B.K.’s PS3, and here’s what I think. First off, starting a new game, you get to choose from several different races, and customize your character on a level of that I’ve never seen! And once Earl the Wood Elf was born, we set out protecting the Emporer, whom I “accidentally” slashed at with my sword. The other guards tryed to take me down, but B.K. quickly retrieved the controller and settled the matter. Anyway, one thing I did notice about this game were the graphics. Although they weren’t anything special inside the dungeons and caves, the outside world was pretty good-looking, although it could have been shinier. I also enjoyed the weapon and srmor choices, allowing you to steal stuff from your “past opponents”. I pretty much looked like a cheap knockoff of Altair from Assassin’s Creed. Overall, this was actually a pretty good, solid game for the PS3, with fun combat, great customization, and more, if you’re into RPGs, this is the game for you.

Brain Age 2:More Training in Minutes A Day-The actually fun educational DS game is heading back later this August with Brain Age 2, and this time it is sure to have tons of new Brain-training excitement. The game wil feature 10 new games, sudoku puzzles, and even some new multiplayer modes. There will be a ton of new, fun features, but I’m sure all DS owners should make sure they check this one out on August 20.

Metroid Prime 3:Corruption-Probably one of the most anticipated games for the Wii is the new addition to the Metroid series, Corruption. This time havoc is being caused all across the galaxy, and Dark Samus is to blame. Pretty soon a list of bounty hunters are called in, including Samus. He is later infected by Corruption, and has to fight off his dark side. This new FPS for the Wii is said to be “revolutionizing FPS controls”, and with their controls of using the Wiimote for camera, nunchuk for Samus’ grappling hook and more, this looks to be pretty exhilirating. This also looks to be one of the prettiest Wii games, with greta looking environments and ships, this is sure to be a winner when it comes out August 21.

John Woo’s Stranglehold-Probably one of the most awesome-looking games coming this year is Stranglehold, a third person shooter taking place in various locations like Chicago and Hong Kong. One of its coolest features is the diving feature, which when used near a cart or a handrail, allows your character to run up or down the rail or ride on the cart all while shooting up baddies. The game will have Pirates of the Carribean’s Chow-Yun Fat, so this one will be sure to be a winner when it comesoutAugust27.
