Earl’s Game Closeup-Metroid Series

Another famous Nintendo series aside from Zelda (See that Game Closeup) is the Metroid series. It all started way back when in 1987 with Metroid, an NES sci-fi shooter that had you, Samus Aran, saving the galaxy against evil, and ultimately, the Mother Brain. The game was a huge success, and provided a unique experience for gamers in a world of Zelda in Mario. You can say it was the Halo of its time, without Plasma Swords, unfortunately. The game used a unique password system that you used to save your game, although it could sometimes be annoying. And ultimately at the end of the game we threw down our controls in suprise finding out the main character Samus was a girl. They then went on in 1991 onto the Gameboy with Metorid 2:Return of Samus where the bounty hunter Samus goes up against Queen Metroid. Afterwards they created Super Metroid in 1994 for the SNES, Metroid Fusion for the GBA in 2002, and then they started the Metroid Prime Trilogy in 2002 for the Gamecube. They started off with Metroid Prime, MEtroid Prime 2:Echoes, and most recently Metroid Prime 3:Corruption. It is definitely true that the Metroid series is on of the strongest Ninetedo will ever have, and with great controls, its uniqueness, and more, it looks to remain that way.
