(Grade:B+) Yea, I know I’m about…um…8 months off on this one, but I got a chance to rent this movie ,and I’m gonna tell the world my opinion! This movie follows Larry, a night guard who’s new job is more than he asked for when he finds out that the things in the museum he’s working at come to life at night! Ben Stiller does a pretty good job, not including a few moments. The best performance though, cam from Mickey Rooney, Dick Van Dyke, and that other dude. The only thing I didn’t like like about it was how the tablet was making them young ,and that’s why they did something, I just didn’t quite like that plot twist. This movie is also very funny, with plenty of knee-slapping moments. Overall, this is a pretty good movie that almost anyone could enjoy with their family.

Because I am so clever, and that I realize that I my Comics categoryis dying fast, I’ve decided to reinvent this category, now referring to comedians, not comic books! So, here we go.
Kevin James, an extremely funny comedian whose material is mostly clean and original, recently had a one hour stand up special on Comedy Central, where he described how the little things in life bugged him. In this new category, I will talk like a general overview of the special (above) and some of his funniest moments. I will paraphrase when possible.
- New York has some great delis (applause) yea, althoughit always seems I’m behind the guy that’s ordering for his entire construction crew. “Yea, I’ll have 96 ringdings, 57 bags of Funyuns, 42 coffees…..Ahhhhhhhhhh……”.
- I love pizza, but the thing is I hate having to share with other people. You know when you come down to the last few slices you have to do that pizza math! Okay, he’s already had two slices, he should be out…What is she still doing here? She should have been out minutes ago! And then there are the last two slices, like one’s enormous and one’s really tiny, like the guy with the pizza cutter got to excited, like “Hey, here’s you pizzzzzzaaaaa, there you go!”.
- My girlfriend really gets on my nerves…..Yea, she’ll go to a movie opening night with her friends, then she’ll take me to go see it if she likes it. She’ll be tapping me during the movie, saying Watch this, this is good. I’m a guy sitting in a chair in front of a huge screen, what else am I doing? (Covers up his eyes, makes puppet in front of eyes, etc.). Then she’ll get mad at me. Later, we’ll get out to the car, and it seems as soon as I try to pull the switch on my door to unlock her door, she trys to open it. That goes on for about AN HOUR!!!!!!!!!!! click-click click-click click-click click-click click-click click-click click-click click-click click-click click-click click-click click-click click-click click-click LET GO OF THE DOOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Recently I tryed to go on vacation. Yea, I got to the travel agent line, and you know there’s so much pressure on you, you know everyone behind you is wanting to go on vacation, everybody looks at you, “Your next, your next!”. Eventually you get up there and the travel agent is so impatient, and I can’t find her! Everyone’s yelling, she’s saying “Sir i’m looking right at you!” THAT”S NOT HELPING ME!!!!!! Eventually you find her and her questions make you feel really smart-Sir, did you pack your bags? No, a Pakistanian named Phil packed up for me. Sir do you know what’s in your bags?…………………………………………………………………….No, no, I tied my hands up and packed using my feet… I’m thinking hotdogs and gunpowder.
- Recently I was in a hotel and in an elevator, and there were other people on there with me, and when they got to my floor I immediately moved to the front to get off, only the door didn’t open instanly , so now I’m embarrassed, too much to step back. And sometimes I go ahead and accidentally get out on the worng floor. And the people inside the elevator know you messed up. They look at you “Sure you don’t wanna get back in?” No, no, no, I wanted the basement, I’m gonna get a towel bin here, get me some towels…..-GO, GO, LEAVE!!!!!!!

I just deided I would join in the whole world on topics. One thing that had been going aroud the world controversially was talking on the cellphone while driving, and it was proved just as dangerous as drunk driving bythe Mythbusters. But another thing that has just entered our crosshairs is doin’ the text messaging while driving. Not only do we think this is dangerous, we’ve proven it. Just some time ago, a group of 5 young women lost their lives in a car accident when they hit a big rig head on. But how do we know texting was the cause? Police actually recovered the cellphone and found several text messages that had been sent/received just before the accident happened. The last one was received just 38 seconds before the 911 call. But although we can’t prove the driver was the texter, we can assume she had something to do with it being her phone. There’s no doubt that this is an extremely dangerous habit, and one that we should all stay away from. Think about it. You piloting a 2000 lb or more piece of metal than can go up to no telling how fast…..while trying to share the newest gossip with your girlfriends. The way I see it, you have a couple of choices:
- ACTUALLY TALK TO THAT PERSON ON THE PHONE WITH A HEADSET!!!!! If you’re tesxting them because you can’t talk to them because they’re in class or something, they shouldn’t be texting!
- Let someone else drive.
- Wait until you get out of the car at your destination or at a pit stop!
- Get a rotary cellphone that way it eliminates texting.
Wise up, or it could be your life.

Hairspray-Okay, I know it’s no Transformers, but this movie which started as a play which I saw performed by a school group at a convention looks to be a rare gem. It tells the story of a girl in the 1950s whose dream it is to be on a popular TV show. It has a long list of very funny people including John Travolta, Christopher Walken, and Queen Latifa. I wanna be called King…..or maybe Jester…..on second thought-
Sunshine-This cool little sci-fi thriller is set in the future when the sun basically runs outta fuel and a couple of brave souls are going a mission to reignite the sun. It looks to have some pretty cool special effects, and a unique storyline. That’s a good combination. Yep. I just used the word “yep” so I could go onto the next line. I’m so clever. Just like this movie! Ha ha ha. Oh…..
All The Boys Love Mandy Lane-This movie tells the story that most of us are too familiar with. Mandy Lane, the prettiest, coolest, most popular girl in school has all the boys affection, but there’s one boy that’s doing all he can get to her. Including eliminating his competition. I take back that familiarity part. It’s like High School Musical gone horribly wrong! (I’m sorry, I had to tell that one!) I’m so clever…LIKE SUNSHINE!

To anyone who is out there who knows how to put a new Wiimote in the first controller slot (#1), please leave me a detailed comment on how to do so. Also, to anyone with more than one Wiimote, please do the same except telling how that works in turning-on wise when you turn the console on. What I mean is, do you turn the additional Wiimotes on in a specific order, or do they automatically switch on? The first question is the most important.

Monk-Mr. Monk is on the case when Marci Maven, his obsessed fan, has a dog that is suspected of killing her neighbor, nly one problem, the dog’s dead. She shows up at Monk’s door, scared, although still obsessed with him, he refuses to answer and sends Natalie instead. Later at a bachelor auction, however, Marci get her wish as she buys Monk for 6 hours for a mere $800. At Marci’s house, Monk finds several creepy dioramas and pictures of himself, even a corner in her kitchen dedicated to him. Monk then decides to take her case. They go outside too the shed where they found the body, but Monk notices that all of the tools were in place, something that wouldn’t be true if she was being attacked. Monk also found the hole that the dog supposedly crawled through, but the dirt was on the wrong side of the fence, and a dead tulip matched the one on the shovel in the shed. Marcithen talks about the last time she had seen the dog, and how he showed up at her house after dissapearing for several hours covered in wood shavings like mahogany. They then visit five wood factories, eventually discovering the victim’s husband works at one. And after Monk finds some molding material, he solves the case, but not before the husband can attempt to kill them, and shoot Marci. The captain and lieutenant came in and took the killer away.
Here’s what happened:A couple of weeks ago, the victims husband found out the perfect alibi to kill his wife. Marci’s dog had attacked before, so evryone would think that if she was killed, it would be the dog. So he kidnapped the dog, drugged him, and then made a mold of his teeth, and then a edge-clippers like design with his teeth mold on the end. The dog accidentally ingested part of the mold when it was being made, and that’s what caused him to die. He then killed his wife, and made it look like the dog bit her a couple of times. Only one problem:He was framing a dead dog!

Yea, I know, I skipped Day 2 and 3, but those were just pretty much talking about more games and them talking about more games, and playing their demos, etc. Their wasn’t any real news per say besides the new PSP, the PS3 “price cut”, and WiiFit, if you consider that news. Overall, E3 07 just really showed us the importance of games. And now, to conclude this monumental conference and 3 1/2 day coverage, I will name off some of the Top 5 Stuff at E3 2007.
Top 5 PS3 Titles at E3 07-
- Ratchet and Clank Future:Tools of Destruction-This cool little title showed its stuff this year at E3, with some gorgeous graphics, cool weapons, and more.
- Killzone 2-Well, it’s been about a year or two since we’ve been waiting for more content and to see if it lived up to it’s shiny trailer, and yes, yes it did.
- Metal Gear Solid 4:Guns of the Patriots-Well, although this game may not be a PS3 exclusive for long, we’ll give it it’s moment of glory due to it’s great trailer with because of the dude spilling the lunch wagon. You know, hurling, you get the point.
- Uncharted:Drake’s Fortune-This little underdog of a game from Naughty Dog which created Jak and Daxter are spilling (no vomit reference intended) out this title which is like Lara Croft as a dude.
- Infamous-This neat little title shown at Sony’s Media event has some great potential for next year in its superhero genre.
Top 5 Wii Titles at E3 07-
- Super Mario Galaxy-I honestly just can’t wait to get my hands on this game when it comes out in November. With a confirmed release date, promising levels, and more, I couldn’t ask for more from Nintendo.
- Â Super Smash Bros. Brawl-This game was one of the reasons I bought the Wii. I could not stand not being able to play this game. And with new characters (Giga Bowser!), stages, and thee promise of having a Nintendog block the screen, I’m in!
- WiiFit-Honestly, it was close between this and Galaxy, but with 40 minigames, a great promise and foundation for future Wii games (skateboarding!), it comes in a valuable and well-deserved second.
- Metroid Prime 3:Corruption-I have actually never played a Metroid game before, but with it’s revolutionary FPS controls, shiny graphics, and compelling “Dark Samus” storyline, I would like to try it as the Wii game that comes out the nearest in the future-August 27th!
- Rayman Raving Rabbids 2-I would have given this spot to Mariokart, however I am looking forward to this game immensely on November 12th, and I am definitely looking forward to the Guitar Hero knockoff!
Best Xbox 360 Game at E3 07-Ok, right now, I’m really tired, so I’m just going to name off some duhs, and then go to sleep, these don’t really need explanation.
- Halo 3
- Splinter Cell:Conviction
- Mass Effect
- Fable 2
- BioShock
There were also several other honorable mentions, some I did not list because they came out on two of the previously named consoles, so here are the Top 3 Honorable Mentions:
- Star Wars:The Force Unleashed
- Burnout Paradise
- Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare
Best Game At E3 07- Ratchet and Clank Future:Tools of Destruction

This week has been the week of E3, and therefore, a lot of focus has shifted to the newer games. But I still care! I’m still here! But I wish I wasn’t. This week hasn’t really set the world on fire. That’s a weird mataphor. Who would want ot set the world on fire? That’s ridiculous. It seems we’ve just received some ports of bad moviegames, a regular old RPG, and another old RPG, so therefore there is no Game of the Week this week. Maybe next week will be better with this year’s Football titles NCAA and All-Pro hitting shelves. Until then.

Guitar Hero 3:Legends of Rock-Rock on! Guitar Hero 3 will be hitting our favorite consoles (Wii) soon, and here’s the inside scoop! The game will feature, of course, 4 difficulties, ranging from e-say to the mind-numbing expert. The game will also have a battle mode which will allow players to attack their opponents my making the victim’s keys dissapear temporarily. The game will also have several cool titles, including Alice Cooper’s School’s Out, and Slow Ride by Foghat. There will also be a boss battle with the rocker Slash. Rock out!
Heavenly Sword-This spunky little game wowed us all back at E3 06, but has it made an improvement? Besides bveing shown on Heroes, this game has many other accomplishments, receiving several awards at E3 06. This game tells the story of a woman set to avenge her father with the help of a mighty sword used by the gods. The graphics are just plain stunning, and the Resident Evil 4-like cutscenes look interesting. Make sure you check out this puppy September 4th.
Super Mario Galaxy-Well it’s about time! Mario is making his first ever adventure on the Wii, and it sure does look promising. This time Mario will be going across different planets, each different in their own way. Mario will also have different powerups, like a bee costume that will allow him to fly temporarily. The game has been called quote “perfect” by one of IGN’s testers, and you can be sure this little guy will sell when it comes out on it’s confirmed date of November 12.
Viva Pinata:Party Animals-Those crazy pinatas survived little Johny’s birthday party and are coming back this holiday season with a spinoff Mario Party like party game. There will be over 40 minigames to satisy your awkward pinata needs. It will come out to the 360 this Fall.
Destroy All Humans:Big Willy Unleashed/Path of the Furon-Although I am really looking forward to this game, I am also really, really mad. Both of these games are “sequels” to Destroy All Humans 2, however, Big Willy Unleashed will be a version that comes before Path of the Furon (Destroy All Humans 3). You may think that this is good news, however the nuts down at Pandemic are treating the Wii like it’s inferior and giving it a dumbed down version that’s only coming it and the PS2 and PSP, while Path of the Furon will be for the 360 and PS3. This just make’s me really mad because I am a huge fan of the DAH series, and it
dissapoints me that the great minds at Pandemic are only sending the real thing to the “Big Boys”. Well Riddle me this! Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and Brawl all 3 are better looking than some PS3 games! Riddle me that Pandemic! RIDDLE ME THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m sorry, I will settle with “Big Willy Unleashed”, but I won’t do it happily. Also I’m kinda getting the last laugh because B.W.U. comes out sometime in 2008 while P.O.T.F. comes out in Winter 2008. I may just boycott the series until the real thing comes out on the Wii. Earl out.  Â

E3 officially started last night, July 11, and it started with a bang! There were several big things, and some big announcements. The G4 crew got their hands on several game demos, including Heavenly Sword which kinda looked like it needed some more variative combat, Ratchet and Clank Future:Tools of Destruction which burned to watch, the innovative Fracture, a ground floor coverage showed a woman trying out the new WiiFit game, and it seemed to be working well, and more. They also got to talk with several people like one of the main guys from Sony who was kinda on the offensive when Keely mentioned the 360’s possible superiority. They also chatted with Stan Lee on the topic of Activision’s new Spiderman title which will allow the player to choose as Spiderman which side he will join. Overall, the focus really still tends to go to the games, as it should be. Who will reign supreme? Will Sony be able to make up lost ground? More tomorrow!

Boy oh boy! Nintendo came in at E3 and they all blew us away with all kinds of new stuff!
Where to begin where to begin……….Well, for starters, they showed off several new games, including Super Mario Galaxy which they 100% undeniably confirmed for November the 12th, 2009. Just kidding, 2010. But really 2007. Another game they they showed was Super Smash Bros. Brawl, being 100% confirmed for December 3
rd of this year. They also told us about Mario Strikers Charged, Metroid Prime 3:Corruption, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, and Guitar Hero 3:Legends of Rock. I never get tired of saying that name! But one game really got me excited. And it’s name is Mariokart. Yes, this N64 classic will be heading towards the Wii at full speed with a comes-in-the-box steering wheel. They also showed us the Wii Zapper, a Wiimote/Nunchuk holder that is shaped like a gun to be used with your favorite FPSs. But one game stood above the others. WiiFit. This game will monitor your Body Mass Index and will include 40, I said 40 games to get your blood flowing. But that’s not all! They also told us of a new channel, called Look at Mii. This channel will have your Miis put in various contests of resemblance, and it will have them meeting other Miis that you can take home with you. Think of it like American Idol meets Build A Bear Workshop. And thanks to the resemblance contests, finally the world can see my Morgan Freeman Mii. Overall, the Wii looks to definitely be a force to reckon with it the year to come. Oh yea, they also showed off some DS games like Zelda and others.

With the big console race already about 8 months underway, it’s no doubt that Sony is having a little trouble. With it beig last in sales and not having any really g
ood games since launch. But at it’s introductory conference, Sony actually showed some promising things that could put it back in the race. For one, the PS3 is getting a price drop. That’s right, the 60 G version that was $600 will soon be $500, and a new 80 G will be $600. They also unveiled some much needed exclusives. They showed off new titles like Infamous, Uncharted:Drake’s Fortune, Ratchet and Clank, and more in hopes of giving reason to buy their console. They also showed some new downloadable games. But the PS3 wasn’t the only star of the show. They also displayed some new PSP games, along with a new
PSP. The new one will have a lighter, sleeker design that will be able to display what the person is doing on the PSP on a TV. There will also be different colors, the original piano black and the new white one, along with a special Star Wars edition with Darth Vader on the back. Overall, thanks to some good upcoming titles and more, the PS3 looks to still be fighting.

Along with the preview show they showed exclusive footage from the Microsoft Media Event. Here they talked about Halo 3, Assassin’s Creed, and all of the other great games coming out for the 360. They showed several charts talking about the 360’s success, and much more. They also showed demos of some upcoming games. An Assassin’s Creed demo showing off some of the stealth and combat functions. They also showed a quick round of Madden 08, and demos of Gears of War for the PC, Rock Band, and more. They had several different things, but all of them were pointing to my previous conslusion. It’s all about the games! Trust me, I’m going to get so much more excited for Nintendo’s later today!
