Video Games are Bad?
This category is another one of my favorites from my old site, and it was really cool for me to share my opinion on certain video game or other topics. So enjoy.

Video Games in the past have been under fire by politicians and people pretending to be politicians for years, mainly due to their violent nature, sexual content, or in Grand Theft Auto’s case, both. And in some ways, I agree with them. I believe games like Grand Theft Auto, Blitz:The League, and others like that shouldn’t be out on the market. I know only games like Mario, Ratchet and Clank, Zelda, etc. should be out there. But you may think, “But Earl, games like G.T.A. are more fun!”. Lost Planet:Extreme Condition is a fine proof of otherwise. And did you notice, bak in 1981 when Mario was out you didn’t hear a peep out of Jimmy Carter-Yes, he was our president during 1981, I Wikipediaed it. Video Games did not come under fire until games like G.T.A. started coming out in 1996.You may also think: “But Earl, isn’t that breaking our Right to Freedom of Speech?”. Well, no, because I don’t think Thomas Jefferson intended it in that sense. You still got questions, comment, I’ll respond.
Final Verdict-Games like G.T.A. shouldn’t be out on the market, only games like Mario, Zelda, Rayman, Ratchet and Clank, etc. should be out on the market, because they are the true videogames.

That’s just your opinion. Not all games that have cussing shouldn’t exist.(like destroy all humans, etc.)

I don’t agree. GTA is a game I don’t like playing but thats just because of the nature of that one game.
There are some first class games out there that have mature content, but just because they have mature content does not mean we should ban them.
Video games are part of freedom of speech. Its a piece of entertainment. What happens when we start censoring everything that offends other people?
It means that we can’t express are own opinons.
GTA still should be banned in my opinion, but we should not ban every game that is violent.
Also there should be no problem with these games.
They are rated Mature. Its parents and stores we should blame for letting kids buy these things.
And don’t say that the rating on the box is not big enough to be noticable. They are always right there on the box in plain view. We should be worried about how movies ratings are displayed. It usually takes me awhile to find the ratings on a movie plus a lot of squinting.

1. I believe that the freedom of speech includes that we have the freedom of speech, as long as we don’t offend other people. We shouldn’t be saying things that offends others.
2. We wouldn’t have to worry about parents buying and stores selling these games if the game companies didn’t make them!
3. Notice that real controversy didn’t start until 1996 when Duke Nukem 3-D came out.

Destroy All Humans 1 wasn’t that bad in cursing-Rated T for Lanquage, Violence, etc.
Destroy All Humans 2 was awful when it came to cursing, also in sexual references and/or content.-Rated T for STRONG Lanquage, etc. I almost stopped playing it several times.

Jake whatever you do in life you will offend someone. Just live with it. I kinda agree with linklinker(whoever that is). The only games that should be banned are games that have drugs in them. Like Grand theft Auto, but’s that’s it.

I think that earl is right on this one! Just because a game has violence dosent mean it shold be banned. but exxessive violance should!!!
