Scrubs

Posted in The Tube at 8:42 am by earl

J.D.

Scrubs tells the daily adventures of J.D., an intellectual, yet comical young man who works through the ranks of Sacred Heart Hospital, providing a deep, summary of a problem at the end of each of the episodes, which I find doing in my life. For instance, when getting off the bus and preparing to see if my Game Informer was inside the mailbox, I was thinking “Sometimes in life we have to accept what life throws at us. Whether the good….(and as I opened the mailbox to see nothing in there)…..or the bad. We just have to roll with the punches.” He goes around with his daily routines, whether it’s hangin’ with his buddy Turk, or being called Sally by Dr. Cox, he realzes that he isn’t Superman. That’s a joke inv. the theme song.

Good Burger

Posted in Movies at 8:16 pm by earl

(Grade:A+) I just got to thinking about this movie lately, and how it is one of my favorite movies of all time! It tells the story of Dexter and Ed, two young teenagers who’s lives come together during their adventurous summer vacation. Dexter is planning on living his summer vacation to the fullest, that is until he is forced to work off a debt he owes for crashing his mother’s car, mainly due to Ed, a goof-offish fast food employee at Good Burger. Dexter starts work at Good Burger, and they soon have to discover the secret behind their competition’s (Mondo Burger) beef patties. This movie is hillarious from beginning to end, fully incorporating Ed’s unique style, which almost makes the movie. And who can forget his famous line, “Welcome to Good Burger, Home of the Good Burger, can I take your order!”

Game of the Week:April 15-22

Posted in Video Games at 1:35 pm by earl

It was weeks like this that made me quit doing these on my old site the first time. There are several weeks in the year that don’t have any really good games. There may be some ehh-ish ones here and there, but nothing mind-blowing. Overall, I decided to give this week’s award to Bust-a-Move Bash!, a puzzle game for the Wii. Sure, it may not be as good as some Ratchet and Clank games, but it’s the best this past week had to offer. And my computer is refusing to show the picture, so just go to last week’s Game Previews to see info on it.

Game Previews:Warhawk, LittleBigPlanet, Forza Motorspot 2

Posted in Game Previews at 6:42 pm by earl

Once again, nothing in particular in common with these games, I just picked them out of my Game Informer issue because they looked cool.

Warhawk

This extra-shiny game from Sony for the extra-shiny console, the PS3, has been one of the most anticipated games for the Ps3, thanks to it’s great graphics and cool gameplay. But one thing shocked me when reading the headline. It read: “Yep, it’s just multiplayer.” Now, this could be a really “let’s just get to the good part” move, or a “We’re too lazy to come up with a story” move. There looks to be a lot of vehicles, battles, and cool plane-play, and I think of it as an interesting concept, but one thing’s for certain, it will be shiny. Look for it later this year.

LittleBigPlanet

This is probably going to be another cool game from Sony, but it kinda reminds me of the Mii Channel on the Wii. You create your little…..things, (See picture below), and you put them into the Playstation Network, where they can do all kinds of things like change facial expressions, wave, and smack other…..things using the sixasis controller. It looks really pretty, especially for such a cute game. Check it out (hopefully) in early 2008.

Forza Motorsport 2

This dearly-beloved Xbox game is making it’s grand arrival on the 360, and it only took it 2 years to get here! It was loved by Victor Lucas, and annoying to Tommy Tallarico, mainly due to the turning. Yes, that’s right, this is a somewhat-realistic racer. This game is also known for some great cars, and you can expect them to be as shiny as some of the planes in Warhawk. You can check it out May 29th, 2007.

Pirates of the Carribean III:At World’s End (Preview)

Posted in Movies at 4:16 pm by earl

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirates’ movie for me! I would never cut it as a pirate. I would be too busy scrubbing the top deck and trying to introduce the toothbrush. Anyway, Pirates of the Carribean 3 is set to be released worldwide May 25, 2007, only 36 days from when this is being posted. The story is set to follow the Black Pearl Crew (Elizabeth, Will, Tia Dalma, Ragetti, etc.) as they try to free Captain Jack Sparrow from Davy Jones’ Locker, that is, under the lead of the resurrected, by Tia Dalma, Captain Barbarossa. A lot of things are probably going to happen/get shot/stabbed in this movie. According to the trailer, all their enemies:Davy Jones, (Possibly Repowered) Commodore Norrington, the new governer guy, and, according to Wikipedia, the new antagonist, Sao Feng (The Chinese dude). Yes, Silverwing/Moviescoop, he’s a bad guy. In my theory, either Jack and Elizabeth (probably) or Will and Elizabeth (Probably not) will finally come together. Let the comments of disagreement begin! Bring it on Moviescoop! I accidentally read too far and read one of the first goals of the plot-They’re going to try to steal a map from Sao Feng in order to reach…..wait for it…..World’s End!

The Question!-Best Wii Game…For Me!

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 3:32 pm by earl

I’m thinking about buying a Wii, and I want you guys-James, Colt, Steven, Silverwing, Moviescoop (?), to help me out. Please leave a comment stating which Wii game you think is best for me. I was thinking games along the lines of-Warioware:Smooth Moves, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Excite Truck, Rayman:Raving Rabbids, but it could be any good Wii game. So please help me out here…..thanks.

Hands-On with Excite Truck

This has been the only Wii game I’ve been able to play, and I think it really represents the Wii well. The controls are very fun, move the Wiimote forward for gas, back for air on jumps, and turn the bar for turning, although at sometimes it can seem loose. I’m sure if I had gotten to play more, I’m sure it would have became easier. The game is tons of fun, with insane jumps and ever-changing terrain. I’ve heard you can loadup your own music for it, and if I get a Wii and I get that game, I will look forward to jumping insane hills with “Who Are You?” by The Who playing in the background.

The Final 5 Episodes

Posted in The Tube, Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 7:10 am by earl

Possibly the best Superhero TV show is coming to a close. The final 5 episodes of Heroes are set to begin on April 23, 2007, only 5 days rom when I am posting this post. The first episode to air then will be “.o7%”, all leading up to the final episode, “How to Stop an Exploding Man”. I have the youtube video of the advertissement of the final 5 episodes, which, by the way, is awesome. Enjoy. I am also putting on the last 5 minutes of the very first episode. It shows one of Hiro’s coolest moments trying to get to New York. Trust me, this isn’t the end of my obsession, there will probably be a post about each of the 5 final episodes, explaining what happened.

The Destroy All Humans! Games

Posted in Game Reviews at 4:11 pm by earl

Note:If there is a 3rd one made, I will redo this post.

Destroy All Humans! (1)

(9.00/10.00) Those meatbags! This extremely unique game tells the story of Crypto Sporinium 137, an alien whose race is dying, and it’s up to him in order to go harvest some human, but matching D.N.A. (long story). This game takes place in the 50s, and of course it has a very nostalgic look to it, and the voice of Crypto, Pox (his boss), and most of the humans fit well. You go through a variety of places, being led here to there. Although, as possibly my biggest complaint, the game’s missions can and will become repetitive, although they’re still fun. This game is very funny, blaming problems on commies, and levitating cows is probably as much fun as it will ever be on this game.

Destroy All Humans! 2

(8.50/10.00) This one is also very good. This time around, Crypto is back, not realizing that the U.S. wasn’t the only country on the Earth in the first one, to rid countries like Russia, England, Japan, and the Moon of their meatbags. The game’s missions in this game are a lot more diverse, yet still doing the same thing. You get to fight Kojira, a super-easy final boss, and an MI6 agent, and it’s tons of fun. You have some newer, cooler weapons, making you realize how few you had in the first game-4, this time also in a Ratchet and Clank style format. The humor is also back, but the cussing can often get out-of-control.

Made in China:Agriculture and Food

Before we even get started, under the spotlight exhibit, they had a “door” on sale. I think I could use one of those.

  • Plant
  • Ginger
  • Bean and Preparation
  • Candy
  • Pet!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
  • Food Sticks
  • Edible Fungus and Algae-Even if it is “edible”, I don’t want to eat it.
  • Fat and Oil
  • Alcohol
  • Animal Byproducts

Ratchet and Clank 5 Trailer

Posted in Video Games at 4:04 pm by earl

Well, I’ve decided to join the bandwagon of people with a video category by…..creating a video category. I’d like to thank James for his great work at getting this great plug-in, and now you can all see the great Ratchet and Clank goodness! Well, I thought I would start it off with something good, and boy did I!

Hands-On with Ratchet:Deadlocked

Posted in Hands-On with Earl at 3:51 pm by earl

I actually borrowed this one from my neighbor and played it. I hate to say it, but this is my least favorite Ratchet and Clank game, although it isn’t as bad as I make it sound. It tells the story of Ratchet in the world of an Annihalation Nation-like contest, in which the greatest heroes of the universe are being kidnapped and forced to play in this Gladiator-like tournament. It controls really well, as well as always, and the graphics and sound of course were fine, but what I had a problem with was the enviroments and some of the upgrades. The weapon system is a little more complicated than I’d like it to, but in Size Matters, it’s been fixed to my style. From what I played in this game, you’re playing a lot in really dark enviroments, like rainy cities or dark plains, but the arenas are a lot funner. (I know funner isn’t a word.) This game also seems more mature than the others, with the main villain having to be bleeped because of his lanquage, and it kind of felt like a different game in that area. Overall, I didn’t hate what I played of this game, I just think it could have been better.

Pulling Pranks on Old Man Jones!

Posted in Weapons of Mass Enjoyment at 3:37 pm by earl

If you’ve ever watched all of Pirates of the Carribean II:Dead Man’s Chest, you might be familiar with the scene in which Will goes in and sneakily steals the key from under Davy Jones’…..uh…..tentacle things. My acquantice and I were thinking of other things Will could have done:

  • Steal his hat-I wonder if he has a combover under there?
  • Rig an anvil to his chair so when he scoots back, it will fall on him.
  • Tie his tentacles in knots…..maybe that’s going too far.
  • Write letters on the keys on his organ.

You could do all these things, and more, and I’m sure Ol’ Man Jones will get a couple of snickers from the rest of the crew.
